Jim's Message

As you know, I am running for President of the Progressive Conservative Association of Alberta (PCAA). I am respectfully asking for your vote at our Party AGM in November.

I’ve been asked why I am running. My answer is:

  §  I am a passionate volunteer.
§  I am committed to help prepare our Party for the future and,
§  I believe I am the right person for this time and for our Party.
It’s been my privilege to work with some tremendously committed, very talented and capable volunteers in our Party. I believe that the best and most underutilized assets we have are our volunteers!

It is my intention to better engage our volunteers and empower our membership. I believe that doing so will bring better results for our party.

Re-establishing, re-building, and re-energizing must be continuous. The Party needs to support our 87 local constituency associations and help our members contribute in meaningful ways.

We need to be a modern organization, one using all of today’s technologies and practices. Yes, we have recently made some changes, but there is much more to be done.

I have served our Party in a number of roles. I’ve been a volunteer, a constituency association president, and a member of our Party’s executive committee. I believe I have demonstrated through both my PC and business experience that I can marshal the horsepower in place to build, to support, and to reinforce our 87 constituency associations. I will also work collaboratively and in a constructive and symbiotic relationship with our elected PC representatives who form government.

With our leader, Premier Redford, a caucus embracing a fresh approach, a re-invigorated volunteer force in our membership across the province, and a dedicated group of employees, we can continue to move our Party forward.

The race for PC Party President is about leadership. And leadership transcends both geography and postal code. We do not want this race or this party to be fractured by talk about who is from where. Urban or rural, north or south. We are all Albertans. We are all PCs. That is what matters.

We must work together to build a stronger Progressive Conservative Association of Alberta.

I hope I can earn your vote for PC Party President.

My top three priorities are:

1.   modernizing our Party
2.   empowering our members/volunteers
3.   supporting our local constituency associations
